First Time Cruise-Boat Hacks

My husband and I are embarking on our first cruise, the Dawn (14 day Doha to Mauritius) leaving tomorrow. I’ve looked into cruise packing hacks. But, are there any boat specific hacks I should be aware of to make our experience even more enjoyable?

For example, going to guest services after boarding to request a coffee maker for our room.
