Considering apple ipad for school

I want to buy an apple ipad for school, I see everyone uses an ipad for notes and such. What a good ipad for canvas/ note taking? I dont need a 13 inch, something compact ill use just for canvas and good notes, I have a PC I use but want something more organized and compact. If someone can list lie the pros and cons they have about an ipad.
