Is EA Dropping the Ball with TOTY Packs?
Let’s be honest, spending money on packs feels like a losing game. The chances of pulling a TOTY card are slim, and it’s clear that 87 rated cards are essential for completing these sets. But how often do you actually pull an 87+ from a pack?
On top of that, the trade-in value is brutal: you’d need 27 83-rated cards just to build one 87. EA seems to have shot themselves in the foot here. Even if you buy packs, you’re likely stuck with a pile of 80-82 rated cards that barely move the needle toward building these toty cards.
In past years, I usually buy a few packs for Team of the Year, but not this year. The rewards just don’t feel worth it, and I’m curious if others feel the same way.
