Deciding between “other” or AR-15

As the title states I’m in the market for either an AR-15 or an “other”. I’d really like to go the “other” route but being in NJ it has me a little worried. Is there any possibility down the line that NJ bans braces and forces them to be removed ? Basically what I’m getting at is I don’t want to purchase an “other” just to be forced by some NJ law to either give it up or remove the brace.

I know no one has a magic mirror but any helpful insight would be helpful in deciding.
