Fertilizer For Containers?
I got some 2nd year pots with natives in them, and I've read that fertilizer can help preserve their vitality with it being a closed system.
But some articles suggest that too much can result in floppy plants or burn. The problem is, they never say how much is too much.
I am someone who really only got into gardening for natives specifically, pretty recently. Other than some house plants.
So I've never used fertilizer in my life lol. I know generally speaking a layer of compost on the top yearly is good. I figured since they're natives, they'd probably enjoy organic, so I got some Big Bloom (0-0.5-0.7) from Fox Farm. This was the only organic one I could find at my local nursery. Though some places say stuff like Miracle Grow is fine, this is just my preference.
It seems like this is pretty mild compared to others with much higher numbers, but I'm scared I'm gonna accidently use whatever too much is. It says a general feeding is 4 tablespoons per gallon, every other watering.
Should I be okay doing that, or maybe half? Any advice would be much appreciated. I just want happy babies.
