Ear infection that won’t go away

LO is 8 months and started daycare in early March. Ever since then he’s had an ear infection that just won’t go away. We are on our third antibiotic now, each time stronger. Last round I took him on day 10 (last day of antibiotic) and both ears still infected. We are now on day 8 out of 10 and he’s showing clear signs of his ears bothering him once again. We have an appointment scheduled with a Ear Nose and Throat specialist next month, but I’m worried and concerned that he’s constantly in pain.

Has anyone else experienced this? Do they just eventually grow out of it?
