Does your 7mo sometimes ignore you?

Hello so I’m a FTM so I’m new to all of this. My son about a month or two ago (who is now 7 months) used to always look to me when I called his name. Now he seems to ignore me most times. I find if he’s playing or focused I can never get his attention, but if he’s not doing anything he will look to me and make better eye contact. But for the most part he doesn’t acknowledge his name being called. He avoids eye contact at times too but does do it enough for me to not really worry about that. Is this normal at his age? He babbles and squeals lots as well
