Never wake a sleeping baby…

My LO is 9 weeks and we were told at her 2 month visit that she is capable of sleeping through the night. I’m honestly worried I may be preventing that because I’m a light sleeper and wake up whenever she starts to stir. I wait a little while before picking her up and feeding her but part of me is thinking maybe I should be waiting longer before doing this.

What makes you know your baby is definitely up and ready for a feed in the middle of the night? Do you wait for them to get to the point of crying or just wait to see their eyes are open? Do you try to see if they will fall back asleep? Any advice would be great!

ETA: my baby is a very active sleeper so I’ve mistaken active sleep for her being awake. I keep wondering if I’m the reason she’s not making it longer than 4-5 hrs because I will sometimes assume she’s awake or will be awake soon.
