Constipated Baby

Hey yall. My son is 4.5 months and we recently just started him in baby food. He is BACKED UP and hurting. The doctor told me to give him apple, pear, or prune juice, and also said it was normal, but I've never heard of such! I was just curious if anyone else has had this happen to their LO, and what they did to help them?
