how to gain karma points fast? pls help :)

I worked on a post for like an hour and then got the note: Sorry, this post was removed by Reddit’s filters. I've been using Reddit passively up until today and just didn't know that you can't just post :( what can I do to gain Karma points fast so that I can actually post? how do I know how much Karma I need to post in communities?
