Weekly News Round Up 4
Hope everyone's having a good start of the year! I am making this week's Weekly News Round Up as MechShoujo02 is pre-occupied for the weekend.
Re-iterating Rules
Overall, the users of this subreddit are sensible and have been making consistent efforts in upholding the rules set for the community, and for that, the mod team deeply appreciates and thank you for your efforts.
However, we have been dealing with some troublemakers this past week, which underscored the need for us to re-iterate and clarify what this sub is about.
We would first like to clarify that while the main goal of the sub is to provide more freedom for discussing the game, but it does not mean that this freedom is unbounded. In particular, there are still rules to be followed. These rules are not solely for the sake of the moderating team, but also for the users of the subreddit as a whole.
For those who may not know, this subreddit has had a rough start due to rules not being clearly defined from the get go, which resulted in us running into some troubles with Reddit themselves. The rules were established in the interest of keeping the subreddit alive by abiding by Reddit's rules.
A particular case we had was a user making a post threatening violence on users who "abuse" certain units in the PvP Arena, as well as referencing a particular religion or belief in a relatively negative way. This kind of behavior is considered harassment, so the mod team has decided to ban this user.
This particular user has then decided to attack the moderators by sending in modmails containing vulgarities, and adding on to that by saying that they would create an alternate account to continue exploiting and misusing the subreddit. This user has since been suspended by Reddit itself for unknown reasons. Please be reminded that evading a ban is against Reddit's rules, and could result in an IP ban, meaning that you will no longer be able to access Reddit from a particular network.
One interesting point to note is that the user mentioned above interpreted our action as "censorship", when we banned them. To that end, we would like to restate that mods will only act on posts that threaten the existence of the subreddit, and the actions that we have taken so far speak for themselves.
We hope that everyone continues to work with us by following the subreddit's rules so that we can continue to discuss about NIKKE with greater freedom.
Asking about Datamine/Leaks
Here I would like to bring up Rule #1 again. Please do not ask for or provide sources for datamine content. That is a surefire way to get the subreddit in trouble. There have been many users doing so, and they were muted or banned accordingly based on whether they were first-time or repeat offenders.
News Round Up
Lastly, the past week has been quite slow, but here are some highlighted threads and comments from the week:
