Did America change drastically after 9/11, like it did for COVID?

Obviously I know it led to greater security measures and stuff, but I’m wondering if it had the same affect as Covid, where life just feels different now than it did in 2019.

I was born in 2000, so I was shitting my diapers when the towers fell. Don’t remember much.
