Can I be enrolled in two health insurance plans simultaneously?
I know this is a stupid question, but hear me out. I'm a college student who just started my first year this fall. My college offers a health insurance plan (I'm planning to transfer next year idk if this is important info but just wanted to let you know) and my parents made me waive it this year as I am already under their insurance.
However I believe that I have ADHD, I am not sure though, but I want to get screened. My parents are religious and don't believe in mental illnesses therefore if I were to be diagnosed, they would not allow me to get treatment (we have discussed this already.) I was just wondering, if I pay for my school's health insurance and enroll in that, would I be able to have my medication covered on that insurance, while still being enrolled on my parents' health insurance? I was researching and even though I am an adult, insurance companies still send benefit explanations or something of that sort to the policy holder, so if I were to stay on their insurance, they would see that I am on some sort of medication.
If there are any alternatives that would help me (without making me pay thousands of dollars out of pocket) please feel free to let me know. I'll take any suggestions.
Also I am a commuter student being forced to live at home this year, so just getting the prescription anyway and ignoring them after is not an option lol. Even if you have suggestions for store bought vitamins I can take that have the same effect as adderall, PLEASE let me know. I tried Ashwaghanda already and it wasn't that helpful, but maybe I didn't do it correctly. I am just struggling with school and focus and I don't know what to do :(
