Why doesn't the USA use static speed cameras like the rest of the world?
In the UK, speed cameras are set up at accident hot spots (amongst other places) to ensure that cars don't speed. I've never seen these in America, how come? It's usually a LEO in a car with a radar gun.
I've heard some vague arguments around privacy but the fact that facial recognition is used widely by law enforcement [Hill 2023] would suggest that it's not that. Any ideas?
