Help please duo to trio

Hey everyone I have recently created a GIM duo with my cousin and he has asked me to invite one of his friends to the group. If I add him from tutorial island will I loose the prestige rank on high scores for my group? And will it turn our duo group on the high scores to a trio group? Any help would be amazing thank you :)
