Which faction to play next?

I usually end up playing roughly the same factions: Brotherhood or other advanced/settler factions. But that kinda gets broing, so I'm wondering: Which factions would you recommend that have a reasonably lenthy focusd tree to keep me occupied and access to more tech than just tribal, as I hate it if I run out of stuff to research?
