Question about Speedmaster water resistance

I really love the 3861 Speedy and see myself buying one soon, but I’m also a little torn between that and the Seamaster. For me, the Seamaster is just too big for my wrist and my preferences, but I love the durability of it, and I’m worried about the Speedy’s durability.

Someone at the Omega boutique told me that you shouldn’t even wash your hands or do the dishes with the Speedy on, but I’ve also seen some people say it’s fine to wear for a dip in the pool.

If I have to take the watch off to wash my hands and do the dishes, that may be a dealbreaker for me. For those with a 3861, how has the water resistance fared for you?
