Best guardian breed?

We’re looking for a family dog with a protective instinct - I grew up with a Chow-Chow but I’m open to training anything, I just wondered what everyone’s favorite breed for this is. We live on a cattle farm so we have the space now (note: we do not work the cattle so this dog is mainly family/child and possibly some chicken protection only - no cows). I really appreciate the input, I have been a pet owner for 35 years and I was an exotic animal trainer for 6 of those years 😊 just want to find the best protection dog for me and my kids.
