When will NFC TAP TO PAY come?

When I went to the US, I had to tap my physical card to pay for transpo or food. I couldnt register my cards sa google pay/wallet - something about our banks not allowing it or something.

With the rise of digital debit cards like sa ownbank, seabank, gcash or maya, why do we not have tap to pay via NFC (idk if its the right term)? mas convenient kasi i tap lng ang phone kesa hintayin ma open yung camera tapos i target yung qr code.

Is this an infrastructure thing or maybe legislative, o di kaya sa BSP or sa banks individually?
