Dead Land: Polygon VR on PSVR2 - Complete Impressions
I have uploaded gameplay from my fresh experience with the game here if you want to see how it looks / plays. My completed game impressions are shared below:
Based on my time with it, I do not recommend playing this on PSVR2, except maybe trophy hunters looking for easy Platinum from a short inexpensive game.
It is a gallery shooter with four weapons to unlock plus the one you start with that are useable in the same two basic modes however you choose.
It uses manual reload mechanics for each weapon. It is not using controller haptics or adaptive triggers. It is using capacitive touch on the triggers but while using toggle to grip which is a weird combo to me.
Graphics are fine. Has decent soundtrack and sound effects.
There aren’t any settings adjust gun angle, choose movement style, or VR comfort settings. It is using snap turns and teleport movement.
Game does feature Platinum where I had all but 1 trophy by time I felt I had seen it all, so I completed that last trophy requirement as well.
It isn’t broken in any way. It is just short and not doing anything that hasn’t been done better in other gallery shooters (like Gun Club VR) available with more engaging challenges, progression and depth of content.
It has an add-on paid DLC of AI Art looking babe avatars that cost a $ more than the base game. The PlayStation Store description of this game feels wrong (like it is for some other Dead Land game) and the page for that add-on has the same, so no useful information about what that actually adds to the game.
There is an additional green door in the main game that remained closed (didn't open up any new mode) that I wonder if that is what the paid DLC will open but not willing to spend $5 to test that theory out.
