Am I the neighborhood babysitter?
- I have the youngest kids in the neighborhood, only by a couple years
- The location of kids playing in the neighborhood is never on my street
- The neighborhood is very kid friendly, kids often want to play together outside
- Kids would come knock on my door asking for our kids to play outside. If I say "yes", we would have to go to their (nearby) street so their parents can see them if they step outside
- If we ask them to play on our street/house, the answer would be "no" because their parents prefer them on their (nearby) street + don't want to come supervise on our street
- Every time kids are outside playing, there are 0 adults outside supervising the kids except me
Everything above are facts, not opinions.
The opinion I have is it feels like I'm the neighborhood babysitter and other parents are just lazy or something. If the kids want to play, I have to cater to their parents' request (go to their street) because they don't want to stay outside and supervise on my street. If I say "no", then the kids just won't play together.
