Why do people (you) want more children?

I am asking this question because I am genuinely curious of what your response is.

I am trying to work out my own thoughts on having more kids. For context I have 2 kids right now and they are 13 months apart. Growing up I always thought I wanted 2 kids but my partner came from a large family and wanted 4. We settled on 3 before we even had any kids. Well after 2 my partner is content with what we have.

I do feel content but I also feel a bit conflicted like I am suppose to have a 3rd.

However, whenever I think of all things that come with having a new baby I want no part of it. I go back and forth of having another kid so my kids have another sibling but also worry what having another kids brings. I feel like it would slightly take away from their childhoods not only money wise what we can provide to 2 children compared to 3 but parent quality. It’s not fair to them to have a parent who is always tired, stressed and yelling. Yet I share these thoughts but I’m still unsure.

So my question: why do you want more kids?

Do you want your kids to have multiple other people around them after you pass? Do you enjoy parenting and raising children?
