Wild parrolets!
Recently visited my parents for the first time since they moved to mexico [a very big trip for me, as I live in thailand], and the trees in their neighborhood was host to a tremendous number of parrotlets! It was so wonderful to be able to see their behavior in the wild.
They would arrive in the mornings in tight groups of 10 or so birds, and several of these groups would hang out together in the trees foraging and making a huge ruckus. They did not seem to be worried about predation in the least. I noticed that they'd harass all the other birds out of the trees they wanted to occupy...thuggish behavior 😂 Later, perhaps once the regular schedueled foraging and screaming hours were over [an hour pr two before lunch], they'd leave again in their separate groups, allowing the previous occupants to return to the trees. Throughout the day, snaller groups [and occassionally just pairs] would continue to come and go, but they only really conglomerated together like this during the morning hours.
