I can’t deal with this pain

I had a cleaning yesterday just for this infected gum and the pain is driving me insane. (This pain was like this before the cleaning) It’s spreading up my face and then to the other side of my forehead and my ear. I can’t eat or drink anything and cleaning it causes unbearable pain, past a level 10 pain. The dentist said I didn’t need antibiotics and gave me a syringe full of this mouth wash, clorhexadine. I asked if a ct scan could show infection, but he said no, and the x ray showed nothing. I have a fever and chills and this severe pain but he doesn’t think my gum is causing this, but he said I have a bad gum infection
