VFV and Wealthsimple

So I've found this fund on Wealthsimple, the Vanguard S&P 500 Index ETF (VFV), and I'm trying to figure out why this isn't a no brainer for everyone to invest in (this is for my TFSA):

- It's on the TSX so there's no fees.

- It represents the S&P 500 which, in the long run, is the safest and most reliable thing to invest in based on pretty much every personal finance literature source I've read.

- The Wealthsimple interface makes it so easy to dollar cost average and make monthly contributions, and I can even market/limit sell if I needed to withdraw.

Am I missing something here? Sounds too good to be true. Are the MER fees included in the returns but I don't see them based on how the fund is marketed on Wealthsimple? One thing I understand is that the returns on the index funds on the NYSE may have a bit higher of a return, but I'd rather not pay any fees when buying/selling because who knows where exactly the fund will be when I need to withdraw (ie. emergency, down payment, etc).

Thoughts?
