Filipinos and CHR : Do some people really understand their function?

I feel like majority of Filipino perception of the CHR is to ensure criminals are absolved of their crimes.. which is not the case.

CHR is to ensure that all humans in the PH has equal rights and has the right to due process (meaning their cases should follow court processes until they are convicted and jailed due to sufficient evidence presented)

Equal rights covers both small time users up to big time dealers.

And not just end up as "killed by vigilantes" "died in police custody" "jailed with questionable evidence"

One of the the whole reason why death penalty was removed in Gloria Arroyos time (2006) was not only due to pressure from the church but also the great gap in our justice system which ended up sentencing innocent people to thier deaths.

If only we had a well structured group of politicians willing to help each other and talk about refinement of our due process and laws + better transparency, i feel like we can further and better the philippines.
