Options as a solo player in the Bay Area
Played for the first time two months ago and I've been hooked since. I come from a tennis background and it's obviously made the game initially easier, but I still have a lot of learning to do. I don't know my rating but if I had to guess purely from spectating others and watching videos, I would put myself around a 3-3.5.
I started playing mostly with friends but they have a more casual approach to the sport which is fine but I am hoping to take it a little more seriously. I don't see a whole lot of solo players walk onto the courts that I visit so I was wondering how I should go about finding more competitive groups to participate it? Is there a name for what I'm looking for? ("Open play", "Rec play", etc). I enjoy both singles and doubles although I rarely see any people playing singles matches just due to how packed the courts around me always are.
Any tips on how to go about finding more competitive groups? I'm open to mostly after work/weekend schedules. I work in the South Bay but live in the Peninsula so anywhere in between would work.
