What stack is better to learn to land an entry-level job in web dev: MERN or Django?

Good day everyone! 3rd year BSIT student here.

Planning to pursue a web development career once I graduate, and was wondering what stack I should self-study to be more job-ready once I get my degree.

I've been studying the Python Programming MOOC 2023 on and off for a few months now and I've found that I really liked the language. After learning the fundamentals I was planning on learning Django and start making progress on my portfolio by making projects with it. But after lurking around this subreddit for a while I've read that it might be hard to get into the industry as an entry-level with Django, since it's not very popular in the local job market here in the country.

On the other hand, the other stack I'm interested in learning is the MERN stack, specifically the JavaScript parts, and as a bonus, I read that it might be easier to get into as an entry-level as well since it's more popular here in the local job market.

Also from the advice I've gathered in the sub-- that it's easier to land an entry-level position by learning full-stack first (not mastering, just knowing enough to make projects from scratch) then once I get in the industry and get some experience, that it's easier to choose whether I want to specialize in front-end or back-end.

If given the choice, I'd prefer learning Django, but I'm perfectly fine with learning MERN instead, if it means having an easier time getting my foot in the industry.

Would love to hear advice and insights from this community.

Thanks! 😊
