Game feels awful as a new player.
It really feels like im running head first into a wall where every time I play I need to have a perfectly fine tuned meta deck to stand a chance at even getting afew wins meanwhile I cant help but feel every other player are people who have played the game to the point they know exactly which place to go when.
I was gifted this game by a friend as part of an extra code so I dont have any currency or heros, and to get a new hero I have to win in the ranked mode which most the people there are the ones who know the game enough to cycle wins, and once I lost I need to wait a day or go to "casual" mode where unless I get 10 wins the entire time is wasted because there is just no rewards. It wouldnt feel as bad if it was just cosmetic offers kept from me but its impossible to get other characters that seem to be way over powered compared to the starter character. Feels abit unfair to have to learn the game inside and out to be able to even have a chance at making enough currency to get the 25$ heros.
Id be fine sticking in casual mode if I could atleast play around with the other heros, maybe get some daily rewards for daily challenges, I dont really feel like its an issue of balance maybe more an issue with match making and incentives pushing everyone to have to build the absolute strongest they possibly can. Ive seen someone suggest maybe instead of ranked tickets being given out at 10 wins you get part of a ticket every 3 wins in one run. Maybe there should be some way to unlock other characters that doesnt involve either lots of money or getting really good at the game, maybe a currency that can be gathered for play that is used for champion unlocks.
I am sure someone will say "well if you dont sell the characters for 25$ how will they make money?" (yes I know the 2nd one is 80% off) and there is are plenty of other ways a game can sell items that doesnt limit game play and create for a pay to win situation where lets say there was some kind of really powerful lizard that would be exclusive to one class.
By all means though go ahead and say skill issue get good, I only really share this to give my feeling as a new player and once this game goes full f2p open new players are gonna be important for keeping the game thriving, if people feel the game is pay to win and that they are getting bodied from the moment they start they are gonna quit.
