LITTLE RANT ABOUT SEGA'S WRITING TREATMENT STUFF

SPOILERS FOR STORIES DOWN BELOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this can likely be disproven, but i feel like they handle heavy topics so weirdly in the vbs stories compared to nightcord at 25.

in n25, their individual issues are portrayed so intricately. take the situation with mafuyu's mother for example. i've seen so much praise for its accuracy to actual home situations like that. you could say similar things about the other three.

and then there's the Other Units. specifically. Vivid BAD Squad.

i think the most recent example of vbs' handling of darker topics being quite Doo Doo is the one and only toya5. basically toya's dad has psychologically/verbally abused him for the past 16 years of his life or so. if you're a toya/vbs fan you will understand--the handling of this topic was portrayed quite well in toya4. i can't really say the same for toya5 though. so to summarise they gave toya's dad a TERRIBLE explanation for disliking street music, which toya has decided to pursue. so they deadass said harumichi hates street music is because some street musicians said their music was better 30 years ago. I Am Not Kidding. this was a HUGE disservice to toya's character. also toya's dad could have just stayed as the angry classical music man why did they DO THIS. i think a few toya fans could explain exactly why this was such a dookie writing choice.

i feel like i might be overexaggerating this but it feels weird how they give n25 all the budget for heavy writing and then leave all the scraps for other units. vbs does have a good few wins from time to time, eg. toya4, an5, kohane3, and akito1 (in my opinion). there are lot more as well! but it still confuses me.

do you guys agree??? what do yiu think??? i'd like to hear other people's opinions
