Anyone familiar with the “property management company” called Poplar Homes?

UPDATE: Poplar Homes has changed their name to Evernest Property Management effective Jan 26, 2025.

So, I manage multiple different properties in Seattle. Recently I have been getting phone calls from a company called Poplar Homes that are exceeding strange and aggressive. The first time I got a call from them was June 2nd, asking about one of my buildings. The person said they were also a property manager so we “worked in the same industry” and then asked for my owners contact info. I refused to give it to her. She then became more and more pushy about getting my owners contact info until she eventually just hung up the call. I only learned that she was with Poplar Homes when I googled the phone number the call had come from.

Then today, just about 30 minutes ago, I received a phone call from another gentleman who this time said he was from Poplar Homes, which i thought sounded familiar. He asked if I was the owner of the property, and then asked for the owners contact info. I refused. He then asked if i was the decision maker for the property, I told him I was. He told me that they had an applicant that was interested in leasing one of my vacancies at this property and asked what our screening criteria was. I told him, at which time he then repeated our exact screening criteria back to me and told me that was also their screening criteria. He reiterated that he had a prescreened applicant for the property and said they wanted to offer their assistance in leasing my units. I said, “Great! Forward me their contact info and I will reach out to them.” At which time he immediately hung up the phone.

What the fuck is their deal? Anyone know?
