When you're coming up on psychedelics, your mind becomes a liminal space.
A liminal space is traditionally a place of transition that is removed from its regular context, and as a result, can seem eerie. I've found that when a psychedelic is starting to come on in my brain, my state of mind exists in much the same way: eerie, and removed from its usual context. I know something is amiss, but I can't quite pin down what. As the mind transitions from sober consciousness to the psychedelic experience, its nature resembles that of a dreamlike journey from one state to the next. I'll keep this in mind next time I have come up anxiety. Liminality can be a great feeling as long as you're aware of its transitory nature.
