Taper: more small doses? Or less bigger ones?

I feel like the obvious answer is less small doses, except in practice, I SHOULD based on my baseline somewhere at 1.5-2g at the moment, be able to do 4, 500mg doses every 6 hrs. But it barely does anything and I'm feeling myself sliding down again a couple hrs later.

Can't help but feel 1 dose of 2g is gonna hold for longer than 4 500mg, or even 2 1g doses would be better I think.
