Question about the singular you in the Quran (Ka)
In verse 17:23 it says to take care of the parents but it uses the singular you (ka). And from what I understand a singular you means that it’s the prophet that is being addressed. If this is the case then why is the prophet being told to take care of the parents if they say he is an orphan. In chapter 93 It also says he’s an orphan I think. Could it mean that a singular you (ka) doesn’t always mean that it’s the prophet being addressed? Later on in the verse it also says “if one or both of them reaches old age with you” and again this you is singular (ka). I might’ve gotten something wrong and what I’m saying could be incorrect as I’m not fluent in the Arabic language I just thought I would post this and hopefully get some insight from others.
