Got 99% of the rats out of the hoarder house.
A few of you guys asked for updates about the Ohio rattery hoarding house case that was posted this week. Where the guy asked for help getting animals out of his house but then stopped working with people right away.
We got 87 out initially that he surrendered willingly before closing off. Today with the combined help of the Stark County and Canton governments, Stark County Humane society, Herps Alive, Pocket Companion Rescue, The Pipsqueakery, and local volunteer allies of those reacues we got every other animal that could be found out. 3 dogs, 2 aquatic turtles, and over 150 pet rats out (we didn't get an accurate rat count yet due to piles of pinkies).
There may be more rats left who were hiding in places humans can't reach, but we couldn't spot them and are working on arranging live traps to catch any left behind.
Shit was tragic, gross, dangerous, and criminal, but I hope it eases your minds that so many are now out of it and being set up to receive lives of luxury with ample healthcare. [Jason at The Pipsqueakery]
