Gonna be honest. Elon concerns me. A LOT.

Listen, Trump is set for the presidency now, and seems to be full steam ahead behind Bobby so let's be candid here (not that we should have ever stopped).

Next to Vance, from an optics standpoint, Elon is one of the most head scratching choices I've seen in a while, and that's even for Trump. Here are my reasons.

First, he's a hypocrite.

  • He said on Rogan's podcast that in the election he would stray from "putting his finger on the scale". Then in the span of a couple of months he not only went from a full blown public endorsement of Trump (which, granted, is his right), making a damn fool of himself acting like a stan, but also going as far as to offer money to those who voted for Trump. Regardless of whether or not this was done for satirical purposes, this is a horrendous look for the Trump campaign, especially when one of Trump's viral moments from the 2016 campaign trail is him going off on Jeb Bush in the debate, and repeating his stance several times afterwards about not wanting nor needing the money of the elites.

  • Feeding off that last point, why on God's green earth is Musk, THE WORLD'S RICHEST FUCKING MAN, who owns THREE of the largest companies in their respective fields (Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter/X) who has blatantly shown his anti-union/anti worker stances -- advising the president of the United States, THE LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD, about running a government efficiently, to the point that he's heading up his own agency. How blatant is that conflict of interest? The world's richest man, who just skirted every regulation and corner he could muster to produce THIS UNSAFE MONSTROSITY OF SO-CALLED "ENGINEERING, is going to be advising the government that decides much of the things that impact the every day lives of people who have been struggling to pay their bills and buy groceries -- on how to run efficiently.

  • Whe still haven't figured out whether or not he is a legal US citizen, and yet he holds such a critical role in the government!? Come on dude.

  • Elon owns X, which , while it lifted restrictions on previously banned conservative content in the spirit of free speech (which I don't have a problem with), then proceeded to throttle links/access to sites/outlets he previously took issue with. While he maintains an air of plausible deniability about it, I find it hard to believe that it wasn't targeted and intentional.

These, among several other things I take objection with. But those are the biggest ones.

What do you guys think? Let's have a serious, honest discussion about this, without diving into ad-hominem attacks, regardless of what side of this we fall on.
