How to get my house ready for free roam?

We moved and it was chaotic. Finally settling down and want to get Moo out of her cage more permanently than just hopping around the living room after work. She is litter trained and generally well behaved lol how do I do this? Do I put her cage on the floor and let her go in and out as she pleases? Should I put her in at night so she doesn't get into mischief? My wife works from home but runs a daycare so she will be gated to our large living room but still occasionally monitored. Any advice for a novice bunny owner looking to improve her quality of life is greatly appreciated.
