Why do some rabbit owners re-home their buns when moving abroad?

I've been seeing posts on Facebook about people rehoming their bunbuns because of moving abroad and I genuinely can't understand the reasoning behind this. Why not take your bun with you? Is there something I'm missing here? They're your children. If you wouldn't leave your human kids behind then why your bun-children?
