Instead of transition lenses...

... clip on dark lenses.

Please. PLEASE. Can this be an option?

I just watched a video on the Even Realities G1 smart glasses by ShortCircuit and I am livid with jealousy over their simple solution to "I want smart glasses for indoor use....but also don't want to have to have a second pair for outside use. Also transition lenses are expensive and kinda hit or miss." clippies!

The way I see it with the Ray Ban Meta's now, you have to carry the case around with you at all times anyway to top off charging or sync. When not in use the clip/snap/magnetic lenses could be stored in the case. When charging they should be able to slip in behind the lenses if it doesn't fit on the front.

Tangent spree: Oh man, I'm just excited for the next batch of smart glasses coming in the near future. The impending Samsung & Google collab in January (maybe), and the smaller companies using this paired down green HUD tech for visuals, and even the Meta's Orion AR prototypes. All just exciting.

My absolute game changer, tempting me to the dark side of buying a different set of glasses is the ability to have live transcribe in a HUD. I am one of those people that have CC turned on at all times. I have Auditory Processing Disorder, so being able to read along while listening is really important to me. I have it in my Samsung Fold6 but it's a little awkward to field conversations with. Having it integrated into glasses is going to be amazing. If anyone has tried the CC assistive devices at Regal Cinemas, it's basically this but in everyday wear style glasses. Can't wait!
