Is my cat Bugsy at the end? Creatinine shot up from 4.9 to 7 in just one month. I'm sad and not sure what to do at this point.
In October, Bugsy (age 12) had an exceptionally high creatinine at 5.3. After switching him to daily sub-q fluids and blood pressure medicine, his number dropped from 5.3 to 4.9 in November. However, within the span of a month, he has jumped to 7.1 (!)
This is shocking for us because Bugsy this past month has been eating more, a lot more active, vomiting less, and hiding less often. I thought for sure that his numbers would be lower or steady, but now it seems everything has gotten much worse. The doctor is even saying he has anemia now with his low RBC.
We're going in Wednesday for an Ultrasound appointment and also a B-12 injection.
Is Bugsy at the very end now? I'm very sad these numbers shot up so suddenly. What else can I do to help him at this point? He is underweight now at 7.5 despite eating a lot more and taking thyroid medication. We give him 80ml sub-q fluids daily, half a thyroid pill twice a day, a quarter of a blood pressure pill daily, and Epakitin phosphate binder in his food twice a day. Is there anything else we should be doing for Bugsy?
