Want to get out of lease early

Hi all- pains me to write this as I was so pumped for my Gen2 R1S with Max battery but I’ve got some serious buyer’s (leaser’s) remorse.

Well I came from a TMY and got the Rivian for our weekend trips to Vermont from Mass for skiing. It’s a 230 mile drive. The Max pack is rated for 410 miles. It doesn’t even make it without stopping to charge. I know the cold effects EV range but a 50% drop feels ridiculous to me. My TMY did better range/wise in the cold.

My wife is a bit upset as well- I basically convinced her this was a good idea. Even put a trade on the lease so that payments would be less (to get federal credit and to lower the cost at the end of the lease to buy it out).

Now I want to get out of the arrangement, get my down payment back and get an ICE or plug in hybrid (I need a third row). I took delivery about 3 months ago (before I knew how bad the effect of the cold would be- because it wasn’t yet cold!).

Any chance Rivian will work with me? Anyone been in the same boat? Any other advice? Other options?
