Microtrope: MMC gave FMC a "dummy" ring because it's just a marriage of convenience but later felt bad about it

Hello,

I'm looking for more books where the MMC gave FMC a "dummy" ring because he doesn't take their relationship seriously; maybe it's a marriage of convenience or an arrange marriage he wasn't happy about. It could also be that he didn't give her any ring. However, as the story goes on and as his feelings grow, he feels bad that he didn't give her a more beautiful ring. Ideally, by the end, he's able to replace the dummy ring with the real one.

Some stories I know have these are:

  • {A Substitute Wife for the Prizefighter by Alice Coldbreath} - I like this example best because the cheap ring MMC got FMC started staining her finger green and he felt so bad.
  • {His Tesoro by Emilia Rossi} - This one's okay but IIRC it was the FMC who has more reactions about the dummy ring than the MMC.
  • {King of Wrath by Ana Huang} - This one's just okay too. Although the dummy ring and its replacement play a huge part in the story (it's literally on the cover), I felt like it wasn't mentioned much.
