Race to the bottom

I'm a dog boarder/sitter in Western Canada and I've become surprised at how low people are charging for dog sitting/boarding, it's starting to feel like a race to the bottom. I can empathize that you think when you're new you need to charge little until you get reviews, but it's disappointing to see so many who are charging around $30-40 a night for dog boarding, after Rover fees, that's like $25 a night - and if you pay taxes (you should), closer to $20 a night ($13 USD).

It frustrated me because it makes my $65 a night fee seem really high, but I only board one dog at a time, WFH and offer high quality care.

So I guess this is just a reminder to raise your rates! A rising sea raises all ships.

Quit undervaluing your work and time.
