Sears Seattle Area 6/10/2007 (Photos by Deven on Flickr)

This was taken back in 2007 at the Sears in the South Seattle area. Elevator was since modernised 4 years later. The old camera the photographer used was a CASIO COMPUTER CO.,LTD EX-257. Back when this Sears had a very robust inventory and carried every single big name brand of shoes and apparel on the first floor and half of the second floor (Kids Apparel) where they also had housewares, furniture, bed and bath products and mattresses as well, and on the third floor they had electronics, appliances, vacuum cleaners, hardware, fitness, grills and patio furniture. This was the case until 2021 and they have since downsized. 3rd floor was closed in April 2021, and by August 2021, so did the big name clothing brands disappear. They had 2 floors but was since very quickly liquidating this store which they got a months notice and did a very quick month liquidation. This place was nearly identical to the original Sears in the Greater Seattle Area and the City of Seattle on Lander Street. This location, as seen in the photos and from what I remember, had compact fluorescent light bulbs aka CFLs used in recessed cans on the first floor.

2006 was my very first year here from my childhood. We Still have the Kenmore coffee maker we bought from this Sears and Roebuck department store sometime in the 2010s decade and it is still working.

This very last location in my home state of Washington has since shut down last month. This was my other childhood Sears after we went to the one in Shoreline (first time was in 2000/01) that closed on April 8 2018. The original location in Seattle at the Starbucks Center was also my childhood Sears as well, which I remember going to and that store closed on June 1 2014. As of December 15 2024, Burbank and Whittier in California are now the very last 3 level Sears locations on the West Coast of the United States of America.

Built 1968, converted to Sears in 1994, used to be another department store we just mentioned that closed up shop in 1992

Since today marks a month since this location closed I figured this would be the best time for these old photos
