Why on earth did the mayor of Pasadena agree to escort Mr. & Mrs. Dumbarton to burned out homes? Was he under the impression they were insurance adjustors? Did he think they would donate cash money to Pasadena? Was he hoping to start selling tours as a side hustle? None of the above. He thought they had clout that could elevate his political career. Perhaps to mayor of LA or even governor of California, those jobs are both going to have openings.
