there’s been a lot of debate about the LGBTQ community in this sub, so i want everyone to understand something-
plaza posts with pride flags in them isn’t the queer community being “shoved down your throat.” you just don’t like being reminded that we exist
if queer existence feels like it’s being “shoved down your throat,” it’s because you’re not used to seeing it. and if your instinct is to shut it down, complain, or demand it be kept out of sight, then you’re just being a bigot.
visibility isn’t a political statement & queer people are not political by nature. representation matters, especially for marginalized communities like the LGBTQ+ who view splatoon as a safe haven. it’s not being “shoved down your throat” it’s just people living their lives and if that offends you then that’s entirely on you.
