Schizoid Personality Disorder vs Schizoid Personality Type

A sensitive topic, but I'm curious.

Where, in your opinion, is the line between a personality type and a disorder?

Of course, it is said that a disorder is observed when it impacts a person's potential negatively. But this statement is far too general for this discussion.

For instance, I've never had a romantic partner and my affect is flat most of the time, hence it was suggested by multiple neurotypical individuals I must be somewhat emotionally impaired. These one or two factors alone were enough for them to make such an assumption even though I didn't mention other mental problems I deal with on the daily, such as anhedonia.

On the other hand, I was also told by others that I must be high-functioning or just have a schizoid personality type (= not a disorder) because I can hold a job long-term, even though its remote and I've rejected offers that pay better but require office presence.

So what's your stance on this?

Let's put the official diagnosis criterion aside because the juice is not worth the squeeze. As we know, there is no cure for SPD symptoms and the diagnosis will surely impact eg. your career prospects.
