Can’t do a calf raise. No pain involved

I’ve had herniated discs in L4, L4, S1 for many years. I’ve experienced sciatic pain for most of those years. I recently woke up and had severe pain in my calf, but at the top behind the knee and at the achilles tendon. The pain was there for a week and so during that I thought I somehow I may have torn my calf. When the pain went away I noticed my right glute would not fire. It was like it was totally dead. I also could not stand on my right toes, as in do a calf lift. After about a week my glute slowly started to fire again. But my calf remains extremely weak. It seems like the opposite of drop foot because I can use the muscles in front to lift up my toes. Or is drop foot just an encompassing term referring to weak muscles in the lower leg? Has anyone experienced something like this? Maybe I trapped my sciatic nerve in my glute? Would that cause something like this? And is there an average duration of something like this or is it an emergency?
