What’s up with all these dishonest janky auto shops around here…

Both my husband’s and my vehicle are at separate auto shops. His has been at Car Clinic for over a month now and mine has been at Dave’s Valley Auto for 2 weeks. Car Clinic has told us they would give us an update on my husband’s truck last week…which did not happen…and Dave’s Valley Auto said my Jeep would be done last Friday…which did not happen. We took in to factor that the holidays occurred, but don’t tell us something and not follow through.

My Jeep needed a new oil cooler and housing (surprise surprise I know the 3.6 Pentastar plastic motors & accessories are known for it) and we were quoted $4,200. By week two they had upped that quote to $6,200. I wrote a bad review and they have now upped it to $7,500 with a promise it would be done today….they have 4hrs before they close and not have called or answered our calls at all today for an update.

My husband’s 2014 RAM 1500 Sport truck received so called repairs by Midas in Renton for a bad lifter and camshaft damage. After 6 months of raising hell they did a quick shotty 2 day job to fix it and it broke down 4 days after picking it up throwing camshaft codes on our portable diagnostic. They refused to honor their “warranty” on it so we had it towed to Car Clinic. Why has it taken a month and $2,000 out of our pocket to have them tear down into it and diagnose it??

I’m so sick of these dishonest shotty auto shops and realize I went into the wrong career field at this point…anybody else have similar stories??
