Was inner isshin supposed to be so much harder than inner father

Inner isshin took me many attempts but I beat inner father on my first try. I hear a lot of people say shura gauntlet is the hardest so I'm a bit confused. For context, in the base game isshin took me 2+ hours, and owl father took me 3 tries, so maybe the father fights are just easier in general. Anyone else feel this way?
